War Time pt. 1

Standard

There is an attack!!! Did you hear? Or do you know?

Honestly I almost forgot all about the war. There’s so much in our world that fights for our attention, for just a fraction of our time. Often times these things don’t seem like a big deal but they all possess the potential to be for our life or for our demise. I choose my words carefully to express the gravity of the situation at hand.  It’s easy to downplay the war I speak of ( I am guilty of having done it) because our perception of war may be limited. War could just mean devastation of the physical, people, environments, food sources. However there is a more cunning war of which you have to study and observe to know more. There is a subliminal war to be aware of and acknowledge because it can destroy us, individually and collectively from the inside out. This below-the-surface war can lead to a war of nations and deaths of many thousands or millions.  Even billions!

War in the physical sense is described as a state, temporary, with a start and end date while war in the nonphysical sense is continuous, indefinite. During wartime in the physical world there is a heightened level of effort required from the people and organizations to reach an outcome they desire: victory. During wartime in the spiritual world (which I remind you is all the time), it requires dedication to growth in knowledge of Truth, commitment to integrity, maturity in embodying your values. My advice to you is don’t be fooled by fleeting moments of peace. Don’t give up on guarding yourself. The war I speak of is ALWAYS in progress and the devil is always on offense so your guard must be up AT ALL TIMES. First suit up. Second, stay suited.

Be encouraged!

Rejection: Why Must We Fear It?

Standard

“You better get comfortable with rejection,” a voice whispered. “What?!? I don’t accept that,” I responded. “Rejection is a part of the growth process so you have to deal with it. Think about this, you might try something new on the menu of a local restaurant and not like it.  Rejected! Or you might read something and toss it aside because it doesn’t feed you mentally or spiritually at which point you decide it’s not best to continue. You have to be militant with your use of time. Rejected! Or you just be yourself one day and someone gives you a stank face. You know you’re putting your best foot forward and yet, that face of disgust comes out of nowhere and throws you off. I say this to bring home the point that you should expect rejection if you expect to grow. I’m not saying to expect the worst in people; rather be prepared for the worst but still be your best despite external influences. Don’t waste time reading into the expression and finding out the reason for it either. Instead continue doing you and be open to rejection’s role as an unannounced visitor in your life. Also, remember that rejection is almost always part of any interesting story you’ve heard or read so embrace it as a part of yours and keep it moving. Stay encouraged!”
